Most security leaders know it is not a matter of if, but when a security incident will occur. But once
cybercriminals have successfully breached defenses, do you know what to do next? Do you have an Incident
Response (IR) plan to mitigate further damage, to retain forensic evidence, and keep the business running
while you recover?
Incident response, the ability to react and recover from a cybersecurity incident, is essential to any
comprehensive security plan and program. But according to researchers from Ponemon Institute, 77 percent
of organizations admit they do not have a formal incident response (IR) plan in place. Of the organizations
surveyed that do have a plan in place, more than half (54%) do not test their plans regularly.
