What will be the biggest priority for DevOps teams over the next 5 years?

Over the next 5 year DevOps teams will be challenged on multiple fronts. Building automated security tools into the CI/CD process has been progressing for several years now, referred to as DevSecOps. This operation mode will become the dominant form of DevOps as every enterprise will come to require it as part of their software delivery governance. After security, support for compliance and audits will also be mandatory to give organizations the ability to trace from binary back to code, enabling teams to track all changes and ensure that what gets built is what gets shipped. Another challenge is related to the growing complexity of distributed architectures which increasingly operate on hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures; enterprises don't want a different tool for each kind of architecture, so there will be a growing trend towards platforms that can support DevOps teams across these different environments.
