For healthcare providers, healing patients and helping families is the top priority. It’s perhaps the one environment where you would not expect to incur additional injury or feel even more vulnerable. And yet, violence in the healthcare setting is rising. Health systems have a variety of security measures in place but it’s vitally important for leaders to add layers of screenings to detect restricted items and standardize them across every entity in the network. Standardization will create security efficiencies, minimize errors, reduce risk, and provide the safety patients, visitors and staff expect and deserve.
